Today I was thinking about how and what I wanted to teach for my next cooking class series that starts next weekend. I feel all we need are some basics and practice to feel empowered and the juices will start flowing. We learn by doing and it is all about technique and ingredients when distilled down. My idea is to form a bridge by introducing new ingredients and techniques within people’s familiar palette with options of variations and substitutions…so creativity can ensue.

Mark Bittman wrote a great article today (Cook, Fry, Boil: Eating for One, or 6 Billion) really spoke to me and my philosophy –  I see cooking as art. A creative process that we are all capable of. Cooking is the one way that we all can nourish ourselves, love others, be connected to the earth and build communities. A way to truly build with our own hands fullness, health and quality in life…in ours and everywhere around us. Effects are endless and exponential….Enjoy!
