Eileen Ferara, February 6, 2011, Sunday NYTimes

I was both looking forward to and dreading the arrival of the Sunday paper. Even in my single, ‘no responsibility but the rent’ days, I can remember not being able to make my way through even the portion of the paper i was interested in, never mind the auto section or the wedding announcements. Although the overall impact was lessened by getting it partially delivered on Saturday, and perhaps it didn’t seem quite so intimidating, it is a whole lotta paper, I’m hoping they are not chopping down trees for it.

The Sunday paper takes me back to a small apt in Hoboken, my roommate and I spending the better part of the morning in our kitchen; coffee, bagels, and making our way through the paper.

My plan is for shreds to become pulp, and pulp to become paper. Paper from paper inspired by an old (and now a new) Sunday ritual. I’ll keep you posted.
