today i was inspired by THIS article about human reproduction in an age of choice. Those that want to get pregnant at a later and later age, many of those who couldn’t conceive now can, with the help of science, but then what? What if you became pregnant with 5 or 6 growing fetuses? What if it is only 2, twins, but 2 is too many for you? I heard for the first time today that many have had 1 of  2 healthy fetuses ‘extinguished’.

below is a questionaire on fertility choices that i have come up with

do you want to have a child?

if you cannot conceive on your own would you consider fertility treatments?

you cannot conceive naturally. which treatments would you consider pursuing? pills? shots? IVF?

The treatments worked. Now, in the event of a pregnancy of multiples would you parent all of the children, or select to have some of them extinguished?

when selecting how many of the children you want to keep what are your criteria for selection?

is your selection based on finances?

is your selection based on health issues to the mother?

is your selection based on health issues of specific fetuses?

is your selection based on the sex of the children?
