I spent the evening at New Jersey City University, where there was a symposium about our very own 365daysofprint.com. The symposium accompanied the current exhibition which was curated by Kenneth Pietrobono and Doris Cacoilo. Along with the curators, I was on the panel with two other artists from 365, Daniele Genadry and Lauren DiCioccio (who’s work is featured in the postcard above). One of the things we discussed was how overwhelming it was to try and take in all the news and media of the day. Instead of being a wave of truth and light that gives us energy, we all seemed to agree that when entering into the world of media, one has to tread with caution and awareness as it is very easy to get overloaded and bogged down by negativity, partiality, and abundance. I came across this opinion piece from the Guardian that was circulating among friends on facebook. This British writer seems to agree about the potentially toxic nature of the press…
