I was taken by this photo from the New York Times. After Qaddafi was shot and killed, under still unclear circumstances, revelers were permitted to take photos of his corpse. Many of these people tried to get themselves in the frame, as one might see tourists doing at the Statue of Liberty. This can also be likened to the buddy shot, where there are two people in the frame and one of them is the one taking the photo. I attempted to take a buddy shot with the image in the newspaper, but i found the placement of myself into this scene, though twice removed through print, vulgar and unbearable. I present a photo taken by me, with my mobile device, but without myself in the shot, and with all the intentions of highlighting this gruesome scene that was captured in a way fit for our times.
