“Fare Hikes”

I constructed Fare Hikes from the pages of AM New York, a free daily newspaper designed for morning commuters. The whole paper is designed to be read in the span of a subway ride, so it is usually pretty sparse with information.

One of my favorite things about living in New York is not having to own a car. I take public transportation every day and usually find it pretty reliable.  But now, after one price increase, the MTA is talking about raising the fares again, and again, and again. The MTA has a $12 billion dollar budget and has repeatedly cut service and even removed subway station booths at 81st and 79th street stations. Why are we paying more to get even less?
