Amanda Thackray is an artist from New Jersey. She received a BFA from Rutgers University in 2004 and is currently working towards her MFA at RISD. Amanda’s work fluctuates from traditional print media to innovative investigations into print, installations and sculptural work. Deeply rooted in the book arts, she has been the curator of the NJ Book Arts Symposium at Rutgers University for the past 5 years.
In the summer of 2009 she was awarded an Artists’ Book Production Residency Grant from Women’s Studio Workshop and was the recipient of a scholarship from the Manhattan Graphics Center in 2010. She has shown her work consistently in New York and New Jersey, and has been a
guest lecturer at the Women’s Studio Workshop, the Arts Council of Princeton, and numerous book arts events.

Her work is included in the following public collections: Alexander Library Special Collections at Rutgers University, BildMuseet at University of Umea, Sweden, Center for Book Arts, NY, Newark Public Library, Indiana University (Bloomington), Rochester Institute of Technology, University of Delaware, Vassar College, Virginia Commonwealth University, and Yale University.
